PORTS x Teatro alla Scala Academy
PORTS is delighted to announce its inaugural partnership with the esteemed Teatro alla Scala Academy, one of the world's premier institutions for professional training in the performing arts. This collaboration supports the creation of costumes for the prestigious exhibition, “Ritratto di Signora, a secret ‘in costume’ dialogue between opera characters and Milanese philanthropists.”
Held at the renowned Historical Archive of the Ca' Granda Foundation, the exhibition showcases an exquisite fusion of operatic artistry and historical philanthropy. Visitors are immersed in a space adorned with painted vaults and ancient relics, enhancing the cultural experience.
The exhibition features four meticulously crafted stage costumes created by students of the Costume Design Course of the Teatro alla Scala Academy, honouring the legendary soprano Maria Callas, celebrating her birth centennial by replicating iconic stage attire from her illustrious career.
The costumes are exhibited alongside an equal number of female portraits from Ca' Granda's Benefactors' Gallery, in an enriching dialogue between the protagonists of opera and the benefactresses of the prestigious Milanese institution.
This partnership with Teatro alla Scala Academy, which has been offering comprehensive training programs in the fields of music, dance, and stage for over 200 years, exemplifies PORTS' dedication to integrating fashion with the performing arts, contributing to projects that celebrate creativity and heritage.
